As the Li River flows from Guilin City to Yangshuo, it runs through Xingping Old Town. Let’s see some about the Xingping Li River section.
The Li River turns a big bend in Xingping Old Town. Visitors can appreciate the bend with the karst hills on the top of Laozhai Mountain offering attractive Li River sunrise and sunset which stands in the town. However, it is not recommended that the elder, the younger children and those whose conditions are not good hike up the mountain as the road on the mountain is underdeveloped without any handrails. Even, some of the iron steps are rusty and very steep.
The Xingping Li River section is the spot where the background of 20 RMB note – Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal lies as well. The Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal is great for photographing the Li River sunset too. Kart hills themselves and the reflection make for a good background for the sunset.
The Xingping Li River section is acclaimed to feature the most gorgeous views along the river. Tourists can enjoy the views along the river with feet or on a bike. Alternatively, the private Li River motorized raft can take them to appreciate the spots along the Xingping Li River section, such as Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, Nine-horse Fresco Hill, Chaoban Hill and other karst mountains.

The Xianggong Hill along the Xingping Li River section is another perfect spot to admire the Li River sunrise. The sunrise, clouds sea, karst mountains in the distance and the villages around create a harmonious view.
On the very early morning of fine days, the viewpoints on the hill are always crowded with tourists and photographers.
