The Li River and Yangshuo are two of the most popular attractions in Guilin Region. The Li River is endowed with the natural karst scenery and the most beautiful section is located in Yangshuo.
The Li River flows for 83 kilometers from Guilin to Yangshuo. The Yangshuo Li River section starts from Yangdi, past by Wave Stone Legend, Xialongwan, Lengshuitan, Xianggong Hill, Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, Nine-horse Fresco Hill, Snail Hill, Carp on the Wall, Impression 3rd Sister Liu Show, Fuli Old Town, and finally ends at Macaoping Village.
Yangshuo Bridge spanning over the Li River is one of the spots with the breathtaking Li River sunrise. One spot near Yangdi Pier also has the Li River sunrise to enjoy. Xianggong Hill could be said to be the most popular spot to appreciate the Li River sunrise in Yangshuo.
The Li River section between Yangdi and Xingping is acclaimed to feature the most stunning karst scenery to enjoy. You could appreciate it with your feet or on a bike. The private Li River cruise boat between Yangdi and Nine-horse Fresco Hill or between Nine-horse Fresco Hill and Xingping is another option to explore the most beautiful Li River in Yangshuo. The route of Yangdi to Nine-horse Fresco Hill and back to Yangdi takes nearly 100 minutes while the route of Xingping to Nine-horse Fresco Hill and back to Xingping just takes around 60 minutes. You could take either of them based on your schedule and preferences.
Yulong River, one of the tributaries of the Li River also features natural karst landscape to enjoy. You can experience the traditional bamboo rafting on the Yulong River, and enjoy swimming in the river in summer. And you can explore the old villages and old bridges in the Yulong River Scenic Area by bike or on foot.
The karst mountains and villages in fog in March create a fairy land, which is great for photographing.
