Lijiang River features the stunning sunrise and sunset landscape to appreciate. You could enjoy the sunrise from Elephant Trunk Hill, Daxu Old Town, Mopanshan Hilll, Xianggong Hill, Damian Mountain in Xingping Old Town, Yangshuo Bridge, etc. For the sunset, the spots offering it are Nanzhou Bridge, Shijiadu Bridge, Mopanshan pier and Zhujiang Pier, Wanshou Bridge (Longevity Bridge – 万寿桥) in the Daxu Old Town, Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, and Laozhai Mountain.

The section between Yangdi and Xingping offers the most breathtaking natural landscape to enjoy, including Wave Stone Legend, Pen Peak, Xialongwan, Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, and Nine-horse Fresco Hill. Along the section, you will find tens of old villages with the local cultural landscape to experience. You could enjoy the private Lijiang River motorized raft to appreciate the karst landscape between Yangdi and Nine-horse Fresco Hill or between Nine-horse Fresco Hill and Xingping. Hiking or cycling is also another way to explore the section.

On Xianggong Hill and Laozhai Mountain, you could not only see the gorgeous sunrise, but also can enjoy the bird’s eye of the Lijiang River and the picturesque views of the karst hills around.
