Li River

Since the 1970s, the Li River has enjoyed a great reputation across China and even around the world for its karst scenery. You can take the Li River big cruise boat from Guilin to Yangshuo. If you don’t like a so long cruise, it is suggested that you enjoy the private Li River motorized cruise raft between Xingping Old Town and Nine-horse Fresco Hill or between Yangdi and Nine-horse Fresco Hill.

Reed Flute Cave

Lying around 5 kilometers from the center of Guilin City, Reed Flute Cave features various shapes of stalagmites, stone flowers, stone curtains, and stone pearls.

Within the halls of the Reed Flute Cave, you also could find old stone inscriptions in the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907). After exploring the cave, you could refresh yourself on the mountain where the cave is located in.

Longji Rice Terraces

The Longji Rice Terraces features different appearances in different seasons to appreciate. From March to early June, the rice terraces are filled with water. In the sun, the shining stars in the water are a type of views.

From mid-July to September, the green rice terraces look like green ribbons in the mountain. From mid-September to October, the golden rice is a feast for eyes as well. You also can enjoy great sunrise and sunset in the Longji Rice Terraces. More than ten Zhuang ethnic minority villages are located there.

East-West Alley

Situated at the heart of Guilin City, East-West Alley is becoming more and more popular among tourists. It is not only because you could find a variety of cuisine there but also because it is dotted with diverse creative boutiques.

The buildings there are in the style of the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). In addition, you could appreciate local drama – Cai Diao on the evening of Fridays and Saturdays.

Yulong River flows through Yangshuo countryside. It is also dotted with karst mountains on both sides. You could enjoy the traditional bamboo rafting on the river. In summer, if you’d like to, you also can enjoy swimming in the river.

The Yulong River Scenic Area is ideal for hiking as well as cycling. Several old stone bridges lie over the river and several old villages with the buildings in the Qing Dynasty are located in the area too.
